There’s Intensity…Then There’s I-N-T-E-N-S-I-T-Y!!
January 31, 2026When you are in the gym and looking to build muscle, there is one thing that you need to bring to the table … intensity. It doesn’t matter how many sets and reps you do, what exercises you do, or even what equipment you use. As a matter of fact, the thing that matters most is the intensity you bring to your workouts.
It’s well-known that if you train to failure or at least very close to it, you are going to build muscle. This is a non-negotiable. It doesn’t matter if you are performing 10 reps or 30 reps, the closer you are to mechanical failure means the more opportunity there is for growth.
Now, training intensity doesn’t have to look like it does in this video as that can be considered overkill. While you want to put forth as much effort as possible, you don’t need to be screaming at the top of your lungs for the rest of the gym to hear you working out. However, I don’t think that’s ever stopped Jesse before!
